The death of his younger brother, Jimbo, came like a sledgehammer blow in Capt. Miguel Cortez's psyche and heart. The pain he felt was even made worst by what the training commandant told him that Jimbo committed suicide. In an understandable outburst, Miguel poke a gun in the officer's chin that prompted the latter to threaten him with a court martial. The court martial found Miguel guilty of violating provisions in Articles of War and was dishonorably dismissed from the service.
Bad luck seemed to flood Miguel's life and what followed is the loss of his widowed mother. Setting his mind to avenge the death of Jimbo who Miguel believed was a victim of foul play, he discovered the possible reason of his younger brother's death--- he had been a witness to an anomaly perpetrated by the men in the uniform themselves.
In his investigation, Miguel slowly transcended his selfish desire for revenge and intead set out to uncover the truth. In the end, Miguel was able to identify those who are behind the anomaly within the military--- the father of his girlfriend Christine. This heroic act of Miguel beyond the call of duty was not left unrecognized and he was given consideration and was retained in the army. Unknowingly, Miguel was also able to give justice to his brother's death.
